Scored big on Monday at the local fair in my town(146 years running). All 3 of my kids are in 4H and my two girls have been stewards at the fair caring for pigs and poultry over the last 3 or 4 of years. My middle daughter has been poultry steward for two years running and is the hardest job there is at the 4H part of the fair. In the other barns( beef and cattle) there are stewards but also the kids who show the animals but the poultry is a different set up and the steward does all the cleaning, feeding and watering of about 150 cages and 4 duck pens. It is a paying job at $8 a day. Not great to say the least.

Anyway, this year there was left over feed and the woman who runs the barn told my daughter she could have it for our chickens. Being a pain to return the donated feed to which it came so we ended up with 7 bags of Layena and 2 bags of Purina Scratch for nothing but her sweat equity. Free is free. Local calculations it is about $150 worth of goods.
