I regret getting in a hurry and buying from an auction. I ended up killing 4 or the six within two weeks due to disease. It broke my heart. And yes like everyone else I need a bigger coop and run. Want more chicks. I would move it on the other side of the yard to where they would get sunshine each am too. I would put the run below the coop on the hill. I love my two layers and new birds. haha thats funny. I am not dareing enough to sniff one. That just makes me go green lol.

But I have to say that I actually watched my birds lay eggs. I know its wierd to hear. But if you want eggs from specific birds then you have to have your hands near their butts lol. (patiently waiting hours in the coop, just imagine that)

I actually got a luagh watching my white bantam polish lay an egg once. Extremely wierd noises comeing out of that bird lol

My regret so far was bringing home chickens someone was selling on the side of the road. They were the meanest roosters ever and killed my favorite hen - and since they were little when I got them, I was led to believe they were pullets.

Then a couple more had a respiratory illness and almost my whole flock got infected.

Note to self: From now on, always have a closed flock. i.e. never introduce random chickens to the homeys.

he did, but his mental capabilities had been slipping even prior to him calling me, so i think due to a fuzzy memory it didn't affect him as much....

When we bought our home this year, my top requirement to the realtor was we had to be able to have Chickens and a Horse! Sorry you can't!!!

I was blonde enough to think that chickens are allowed pretty much everywhere. But it aint like we retire here. We got tired of renting for the price we could buy a home.
