Biggest waste of government money ever

While I could have linked from any and all news stories regarding this issue, I happen to chose Fox because it was one of the first I came across. If you like I will add every link from every news station and paper in the Boston area. I think you were looking to pick a fight questioning Fox's reporting but you could do that to any news provider. Personally I don't watch Fox news ever, want to get that out there. I watch local news mostly for the weather and sports and sometimes if there are breaking stories. But as for the rest of the mundane every day blah, blah blah I could care less. All channels are the same voicing their opinion as it pertains to their agenda. They all have them but some more so than others. I feel you came off as condescending to me because you have a beef with Fox. You know what I don't care about anyone's or any stations agenda unless it effects me,period. I feel you were questioning the validity of the story based because it was a Fox link and then suggested you do your on research on the subject I was speaking of in whatever avenue that you saw fit. That's all. Nothing to do with the media in any way shape or form. The Liberal rag I speak of is just that. A liberal politician could be stuffing their pockets with taxpayer cash and that is a one paragraph story on the back advertising page. But someone not of their ilk or liking burps without excusing themselves it is front page news for a week. While I am stretching it a little here but used as an example only to show their extremism. I am all for fair honest reporting that is it. Problem is that is so hard to find today. Don't watch a lot of news or subscribe to any papers any more because of biased reporting. So it is not that I don't agree with them. So stop being condescending to someone you don't know. I am thinking you have an axe to grind but I am not the stone you are looking for.
You know, you're right.
I did jump automatically because it was Fox without looking to see what your overall position is and made an immediate assumption, for that I apologize.
While I stand by my statements, I do apologize for my tone in said statements as well. I was being rude. I still do not agree with you on many things though.

Thank you for apologizing. I takes a big person to do that. While we may not agree on many things doesn't mean we can't be civil and respect each others views. Part of growing is while not agreeing to someones thoughts but to learn to understand their point of view. No one is to old to grow and evolve. As for myself I have and tend to be less rigid on some things that were once non-negotiable but certain things I still hold firm. I was intemperate in my youth but with age comes a certain perspective on things as they become less important to fret over. If we all agreed on everything what a boring place the world would be. If have learned to fight the fights worth fighting beyond and that everything else is trivial.

As for the laughing icon it was not disrespect to your point of view or opinion but a general conception that most news channels have their agenda. Sorry if you took it as an insult as it was not intended. Not yet have I found a channel that thinks like I do and probably never will.

For the record I am a "you do your thing and I'll do mine" type of guy. I am not asking anybody to like what I do or how I do things but give me the respect to let me do them. The same courtesy I am giving someone who differs from me.I don't tell anyone how to live their life even when asked and often say it is a choice you have to make. 20 years ago I would have told exactly how to live your life The only time I speak up is when someone is trying to take my rights, freedoms or things I have earned away from me,more so money.

Have a good day, Kristy.

Oh yeah, all those moms using their food stamps for political contributions. You're destroying this country. Thanks for that.

Obviously you are missing my point of view. Food stamps are not a monetary contribution to politicians but a way of buying votes from the lay-a-bout give me crowd. Sure there are lots of people that need food stamps to survive and that is fine but it is the able too lazy to look for work crowd that I take issue with. When my parents got divorced my mother applied and got food stamps many many years ago. We got by but eventually got off them just as the program is intended. I think were on them for maybe a year. It isn't intended to go on for generations but politicians let it keep happening thus buying votes. As far as corporate welfare I agree with you it should stop. Where as GE one the nations largest employers pays virtually no taxes. Then the CEO of GE gets a paid adviser job in the current administration. Go figure.Either situation politicians are benefiting whether it be monetary or re-election.

Now if we can pass a law that forces the idiots in congress and other political seats to have to live for 30 days as the people they make laws to govern over, maybe America wouldn't be so *** backwards. Example most of the southern senators and reps are pasty old white men that still believe women that get pregnant from rape should enjoy gods gift and they deserved it via fate, Or that the earth is 6000 years old. Now the fact that they are allowed to an opinion is just a lead anchor for the states that have more rational senators and reps that want this country to be as advanced as china or japan when it comes to engineering and science skill.

What evidence is there anywhere that the people who are too lazy to work put in the effort to 1) know anything about politics and 2) actually bother to go out and vote?

What evidence to their politics and actually vote? Simply look at the politicians that give hard working Americans money to the give me crowd. I find it hard to believe someone would vote for someone that gives their cash away. So somehow these politicians are getting into office. There is your evidence.

evidence.

Ok. There was a woman that would come in the store and use food stamps. I did not begrudge her that except! She was our thief!!!! Shop lifting stuff from the store!
Had another couple that would use food stamps who spent a majority of their money on booze and smokes. They got mad because a bag of chips was not covered on their food stamps.

I have nothing against people needing some help. But when people milk the system just so they can stay home and do nothing that makes me angry.

At my job we have 3 people who have pretty much developed the "walk around and act busy" tactic. Drives me crazy when they tell me everything is done and it is not or complain there is nothing to do when there is lot's to do, they just want to stand there and do nothing.

So....do you also assume all women are thieves? Because that's the wild extrapolation you're using to whine about food stamps. And I can't believe your state allows food stamps to be used for liquor and cigarettes. Mine doesn't.

On a happy note, my state allows food stamps to be used at farmers markets, and you can even buy vegetable seeds with them! That's a great program, in my opinion. And if we could prohibit purchases of chips and soda, etc., I'd be all for it.

Quote: There are many reasons why a person chooses a candidate including health, financial, kids....

And that thirty second sound bite tells you nothing of that woman's personal circumstances. For all you know she's a single mom working three jobs and still not managing to make ends meet. Maybe she feels that Obama's policies will finally give her the little bit extra that she needs to get out of poverty and become a more productive member of society. Maybe she works for non-profits that pay crap but help a lot of people. Maybe she has cancer and has a year to live and can't get a job....

Well, a lot of people use food stamps as a crutch... some people legitimately need them, but some people who are perfectly capable of finding work use food stamps as an excuse not to. I can't even begin to count the number of liquor and cigarette stores in my town that loudly proclaim on big signs "we accept food stamps!"

And of course, so many people with this assistance have new iPhones and big TVs and fancy cars... my Dad is on the government payroll (tech guy for the School District) and he's never been able to get a new car in his life, we have one small TV, and our family scrimps and saves from paycheck to paycheck. After a while, it just feels like the government is giving money to those who do not work.... and taking/withholding money from those who actually benefit the world.

My sister had to go on food stamps when she got pregnant... but she got a job after the baby was born, and is going back to community college on her own dime.

well, since the majority of food stamp/snap recipients ARE white (as has been public record for many years), maybe we should work on doing something to get all these white people working and off the government teet?
