MSNBC Is not a reliable source either. I do, do my research, including reading sources I wholly disagree with. I the other three stations are more middle of the road than MSNBC and FOX. CNN Has begun to annoy me with a lot of their antics and biased nature. NPR has unbiased and biased reporting, and so does the British broadcasting. However by getting information from all these sources, as well as going and looking up the sources THEY quote, I am able to find a pretty balanced approach.Yeah because CBS,ABC,NBC and MSNBC are so middle of the road. But before you criticize do your research, not only was Fox reporting it so were all the local affiliates of the other news networks. Even the (liberal rag) Boston Globe reported it. With them chiming in on it,it is probably worse than it appeared.
Also fox is out of all of them, IMO , the WORST. Just because they confirm your bias, does not mean they are more fair than others. Also.. the fact that your responded with " oh and like such and such is unbiased" followed by a laughing icon appears to me (to me this is my op pinion) that Fox is biased, but you do not care, because other sources are biased and fox appeals to your own bias, that it is OK, and anyone who has a differing op pinion should be laughed at and ridiculed. It is the equivalent (IMO) of a child saying "Well HE pinched Jason so I can pinch Amy!"
One way to try and determine if a source is as unbiased as human based reporting can be, look out for "nuclear" words and statements,a and how they are phrased. This includes but not limited to
"Massive
Nazi- anything (feminazie, liberal Nazi, conservative Nazi)
Sweeping
Libs
Neo-con
Shocking
Hitler
Communist
Socialist
Tea-publicans
Whiny
Drama
Terrorist"
And soon. Sometime sit can be very subtle and it is our duties as citizens of what ever nation we belong to, to be careful for these things both the undercurrents and the obvious, and to make an effort to educate ourselves as best as possible without dismissing the other side as laughable just because it goes against what we feel.
I am not always correct inf finding the right sources, and I welcome people to point out my mistakes. I am human, I too can get Biased, and defensive, and fall into the Us vs Them ideas. But by acknowledging this behavior in ourselves and in our Reading choices, we can at least curb it.
So do you mean by doing my research I should agree with information that I get from Fox news over MSNBC? Or search through other sources.
Do you do your research? What sources do you research with? What exactly am I suppose to be researching? The biased nature of Media? Which Media?
Or researching the economic implications and practices of food stamps?
Have you researched any of that? You do know researching includes reading sources you disagree with, right?
The fact that you refered to a Paper you disagree with as a "Liberal Rag" suggests otherwise.

Do you have any evidence at all to back any of this up? Were you out of the country during Newt Gingrich's 1990s "change welfare as we know it" programs? This program, as with all social services in this country, has been reformed and refined many times.
Unverifiable anecdotes and baseless accusations of laziness are not going to make good public policy. Facts, data and actual information make good public policy.
I'll repeat my earlier comment: corporate welfare in this country is far more abused and misused than any social program.

Amen!!! Corporate welfare costs a whole lot more than social programs, too. A LOT more.
While I could have linked from any and all news stories regarding this issue, I happen to chose Fox because it was one of the first I came across. If you like I will add every link from every news station and paper in the Boston area. I think you were looking to pick a fight questioning Fox's reporting but you could do that to any news provider. Personally I don't watch Fox news ever, want to get that out there. I watch local news mostly for the weather and sports and sometimes if there are breaking stories. But as for the rest of the mundane every day blah,blah blah I could care less. All channels are the same voicing their opinion as it pertains to their agenda. They all have them but some more so than others. I feel you came off as condescending to me because you have a beef with Fox. You know what I don't care about anyone's or any stations agenda unless it effects me,period. I feel you were questioning the validity of the story based because it was a Fox link and then suggested you do your on research on the subject I was speaking of in whatever avenue that you saw fit. That's all. Nothing to do with the media in any way shape or form. The Liberal rag I speak of is just that. A liberal politician could be stuffing their pockets with taxpayer cash and that is a one paragraph story on the back advertising page. But someone not of their ilk or liking burps without excusing themselves it is front page news for a week. While I am stretching it a little here but used as an example only to show their extremism. I am all for fair honest reporting that is it. Problem is that is so hard to find today. Don't watch a lot of news or subscribe to any papers any more because of biased reporting. So it is not that I don't agree with them. So stop being condescending to someone you don't know. I am thinking you have an axe to grind but I am not the stone you are looking for.
Got to disagree with you on that. I think it is about equal and both sides of the aisle are benefiting with cash(donations) and votes.
As if the other networks are????? Funny you can tape NBC ABC and CBS and some of the stories they air are almost word for word the same. eyewitnesses can't do that at a crime scene so how are their stories that way????
Oh yeah, all those moms using their food stamps for political contributions. You're destroying this country. Thanks for that.
Ok. There was a woman that would come in the store and use food stamps. I did not begrudge her that except! She was our thief!!!! Shop lifting stuff from the store!
Had another couple that would use food stamps who spent a majority of their money on booze and smokes. They got mad because a bag of chips was not covered on their food stamps.
I have nothing against people needing some help. But when people milk the system just so they can stay home and do nothing that makes me angry.
At my job we have 3 people who have pretty much developed the "walk around and act busy" tactic. Drives me crazy when they tell me everything is done and it is not or complain there is nothing to do when there is lot's to do, they just want to stand there and do nothing.
