I would say Swainson's Hawk, as well. But it is hard to tell perched as it is. The coloration isn't exact, so as others have said, it would depend on where it was taken and when. Here's a pic of the Swainson's...similar, but not an exact match.

Of course, I go and say that then see this pic from Audobon, and think this is why I am not a professional ornithologist.

OK. That first one? That might be a ferruginous hawk. They can look similar, and we can't see the tail here which would be a good indicator. The second I don't believe is a Swainson's... those guys have a light colored area under the bill and this pic does not show that.

They could both be red tails... I just think that first one might be a ferruginous. We need a falconer, LOL. Not something you would normally find on a chicken forum.

First one is a red tail and the second is a broad winged
EDIT: upon further inspection the second one might be a rd shouldered hawk, the first one is DEFINITELY a red tailed

Sorry to weigh in with a zillion opinions but neither of those look particularly like the red tails I see to me.
I guess I'm used to seeing the back of them not the front!
Are there different colorations by region?

Red-tailed Hawks vary greatly by region and have morphs within some regions.

The second hawk is outside the range of any Red-tailed Hawk color patterns I have seen. The Swainson's also varies greatly with some lacking the white chin.
