Well, I had tossed five coturnix eggs from my ladies in, they were due tomorrow and on the third. They were tossed earlier this week, because they were infertile.
However, tonight's collection included a damaged egg, so I popped the sucker open and found a pretty little bullseye.
I have 21 eggs saved up, BUT, some of them may be infertiles still, and some are pretty old, because I was collecting these as edible eggs. Sooo, I have to pull out a different carton for hatching eggs now.
I also think I have my pack'n'play pen figured out, so I'm going to pull that out for a brooder once my quail from ChernDon hatch, then I'll have plenty of room to raise my own meat birds. Also going to pull the older chooks from their cage and get them a travel crate instead, since they're getting their diapers soon and will be free-ranging when they're not sleeping, so, that will make another cage open. Just haven't decided exactly what I'm doing. The pack'n'play will definately be for coturnix, plus my current pen, and I think the chook pen will have coturnix in it once I get some of ChernDon's eggs out of the brooder, then I think the one massive brooder may go for a button community. Who knows, lol.
