Update:
I thought my problem was gone until this morning when I went to dust again, as a precaution, and checked my female right before. She had quite alot of mites on her! So naturally, I was surprised. I had been doing little check-ups in the days previous, actually, I had checked yesterday and saw nothing! Well, we dusted everyone again, minding the eyes, but still focusing on the head area, because I haven't seen any anywhere else on them.
I'm going to try to get my hands on some Sevin. I looked it up on the agway website but it says nothing about being used on animals. Is this the wrong stuff? Where do people get Sevin dust?
Jenski-I had checked the ingredients in the poultry dust I have. Permethrin is the first ingredient listed. To insure this has a lesser chance of happening in the future, we're also going to try to find DE for the reason of preventing more infestations and we hope to try out this deep litter method I've heard so much about.
This issue is proving tiresome. I'm supposed to get these birds pullorum typhloid tested on the 12th, but we might have to miss it. I need this issue to go away.
