Hello, I have had my first hatch of squabs yesterday under my pair of birmingham rollers. Mom is almost solid red, and dad is red/blue pied. So the question is, how early can you tell the color on the babies? Right now they are both yellow obviously.

Very pretty bird! I took a look at my squab and i think he will look like his dad which is sort of a blue pied color

They will molt possibley to totally different colors at six months n even moult after that maybe, than what feathers look from under six months. I've got a black pair that throw mostly reds. go figure.

4 weeks today

Second one looks same. cant tell difference. Green leg bracelet only way for me to tell apart from Daddy. =D=D=D

And my other pair just hatched out their first yesterday. While this ones mom is already sitting on fresh eggs.

Mine abandoned their squab and it passed away :( but I could tell its color the last few day. Same color as its dad. White wing times and head, normal blue color with a red back.
