My Roo is a Blue Plymouth Rock (or so I've been told.)

My hen is a Black Australorp.

I incubated 12 of her eggs and they have started to hatch this morning.

Has anyone crossed these two breeds?

What bred would this cross of chicken be called?

My primary question though - Is there a way to auto sex the chicks upon hatching without vent sexing? I am hoping they can be feather sexed or have a special feature that makes them a pullet or a cockerel, like the barred rocks with the dot on their head.

What would the chicken genetics be for this type of cross?

Thank you in advance. More pics below.

With a barred rooster, I believe all chicks will have a head spot. If it were reversed, and hen was barred, head spots would signal cockerels.

UPDATE - These baby chicks are adorable. Some are blue/gray and some are jet black. Some have dots on their heads and some don't. Some have step down wing feathers and some don't. The ones with the dots on their heads do not have step down feathers. Be interesting to see if they actually turn out to be cockerels.
