Black? barred rock chick?

Hi all.
I bought 5 barred rocks....and one of the 3 wk old is still solid black with most of her feathers in already. Is this usual? Will the white come in after first molt? or should I assume she was a mix breed? The others all have the usual barring

You could have an Australorp, Jersey Giant or Black sex link. If she's feathering in with no white at all, she's not a BR.

Did it have a white dot on it's head as a chick? Do you have a picture of her?

Nellie had a small white spot on her head when we bought her at day 1. I don't have any pics yet-will post soon

Doesn't look like it....appears to be solid black, no white bars. Looks like my BA as a chick, actually.
