I have my first 10 week old pullet with a black face and comb. The wattles are barely visible. I was told it is a Blue Cuckoo Marans. It has feathered legs. Has anyone had a chicken with a black comb? Did it eventually turn red or did it stay black? In the one photo you can see she is blue 🔵 like another Blue Marans and their Blue Star flock mate. But they have pink faces and peach combs.

Fascinating! I'm wondering if she is a mix? Ayam Cemani cross maybe? Here's a photo for reference. They have clean legs though.

My Marans mix (midnight Majesty Marans) looked just like a crow until coming into point of lay. A big crow, but a crow nonetheless. Her face lightened as she came into POL and then turned red. My Svart Hona pullet has had a black face her entire life, even as she approaches becoming a hen in August. The SH is supposed to be completely black though

I have a Midnight Majesty too. She has a normal rosy face.
