I have my first 10 week old pullet with a black face and comb. The wattles are barely visible. I was told it is a Blue Cuckoo Marans. It has feathered legs. Has anyone had a chicken with a black comb? Did it eventually turn red or did it stay black? In the one photo you can see she is blue šŸ”µ like another Blue Marans and their Blue Star flock mate. But they have pink faces and peach combs.

My Marans mix (midnight Majesty Marans) looked just like a crow until coming into point of lay. A big crow, but a crow nonetheless. Her face lightened as she came into POL and then turned red. My Svart Hona pullet has had a black face her entire life, even as she approaches becoming a hen in August. The SH is supposed to be completely black though

I have a Midnight Majesty too. She has a normal rosy face.
