Here are some egg photos taken with the Marans egg color chart. Punching a hole in the chart and putting the egg behind the chart is even more accurate. I think that's the only way to compare egg color across the country or the globe, as the charts are color-corrected to be exactly the same with each printing. The photo at the end is just for fun...the purple egg had an extraordinary amount of bloom on it. We do not have BCM eggs available, but still have blue copper Marans, Rhodebar, and Olive Eggers breeding flocks.will some of you post pics of your eggs...now i'm excited to see how everyones eggs look
First 3 eggs laid by one of my young BCM back in 2011. They got even darker the more she laid.

The Marans club has these available and it's the only one that is standardized. I've seen another one that shows some "interesting" shades of brown for #8 and #9 that are far from correct.I have a color chart but not one like this hmmm mine is just an online color chart not specifically for eggs...wonder if i should get one for eggs?
I have a color chart that I ordered from the Marans Club and it looks different than your chart you show above and the colors on my chart do not seem accurate in my opinion. Maybe I possibly have the other chart you are referring to. I never use my chart as an egg color reference. The Marans club has these available and it's the only one that is standardized.
