Hi- I'm basically new the BCM and love them. My rooster, Ringo, is sweet and his lady sticks by his side. I am strictly a backyard flock person but am just curious as to what you feel Ringo looks like. Also, he has a "pearl" on the top of his beak in assume isn't normal...I just want to be sure it's nothing serious. Does anyone know of any good Black Copper Marans breeders here in CA? Thank you!

I do not see any feathers on the legs..

I know it looks that way but he has 2 or 3 near the top , I'm planning on pairing him with an overly feathered pullet, if that's the wise thing to do, any other things to point out

All the black copper chicks I have had have had white until about 4 weeks , by 6 or 7 weeks it should be all gone, that's just my experience tho

I'd say it's fairly common but they should molt out with the first juvenile molt.

I bought French Black Copper Marans in Deere Park WA, They are approx. 7 weeks old Legs are extremely feathered. Feet and shank are yellow. 7 chics straight run 5 cockerals One has cooper hackels and crowing. The feet should not still be yellow, right. Help
