I'll take any critiques I can get on my crummy pics

Still learning and trying to "train my eye" so to speak, so I'm wondering if I'm seeing the right things to look for.

Nicole... That is a good working trio!!!

First let me tell you that the pullets take a while to get their color. The leg feathering is fairly easy to fix. It does look like the male has enough to do the job.

The pullets general impression is very good... Still have to wait and see a bit on them.

Now for the rooster:

He looks a little tattered... His comb is drooped.. Might give him some cranberries and tumeric and pasture time to perk him up a bit.. Mine did the same thing last year... Winter can be rough on em.... even a little vinegar in their water too.

His eye color is hard to discern but it looks light..
his general shape is good..
I would expect this rooster to throw wheaton. He is again overmelanised with light eyes and light shanks and I believe I see a bit of a cinnamon triangle on the wing.
If you are liking wheaton he may throw a few in there for ya!!!
He has good substance and width for his age. A little more time and a head shot would help him out a bit here.
Leg feathering is very nice
shank color is nice
his ear coverts are very correct.
Beak horn is correct.
Wattles look fine

The pictures were good.. Nothing wrong with them at all!!! A few more would be good but nothing to complain about at all!!! thanks.

Thanks! I was really wondering about his eye color - thinking it was too light. That's interesting about the wheaton. They're so pretty I sort of hope he does throw a couple! He also has some white on his primaries which is no good, correct? I should have mentioned that he is older than the girls, but I'm not sure exactly how he is. I was told less than a year. He was housed before I bought him with a group of other roos, that's how he lost the tail and got his GIANT comb roughed up. He's getting spoiled now

I can't wait for my younger ones to grow and see how they turn out!

If a BCM throws a Wheaten, what will they produce if you breed the throw offs? Is it gonna be good enough stock to start breeding them and will they breed true or is it a mutt and what would you use it for? Just asking to learn!!!

If I had a bird who consistently threw Wheatens here and there, I'd probably cull it. One thing I really want to do is make sure to get rid of the recessive Wheaten gene floating around. I've yet to get it in any of my birds, and I like it that way.

Geebs and greatergraceoffbg - Love you guys! This is what I look for in a thread on the SOP. . . . Helpful criticism.

Yes, I loved that third cockerel I had, very nice boy, loved him to bits, but, he's dead. . . So my low-rider hens are carrying on his legacy. They're his sisters. They don't lay the greatest egg color, but I'm sure a generation or two will fix that.

I'm pretty sure there's NO Columbian in my birds.

And yes, I agree quite a bit. . . If there's anything hidden in my boys, it is likely in Guittard. And yes, he does have the tiniest white in his tail and in a couple leg feathers. He's the least white carrier from those lines though. My other cockerels I culled from there had a lot of white. But I love the line, because they are consistent DARK layers and over all have decent bodies.

For those curious, the third cockerel pictured that I culled, same with the big hen shown, were from a Wade Jean cockerel over Bev Davis hens. The breeder is a local lady (sort of local) and goes by cowgirlgrace - Although she no longer has the parent flock anymore.

I know.

If you breed the throw-offs, you should get either 50/50 Wheatens and BCM's or 100% BCM's, but with 50% of them carrying recessive Wheaten.
