If I breed my black coppers I will only get black coppers correct? Not blue or splash?

The pure Davis (the original ones, not the ones coming via GFF) were known to be larger bodied, with that nice, "gravy boat" underline. I wonder if that's where her line originated?

Thank youHi Chickengirl.Short answer, Yes — provided there's no lineage of blue or splash in the gene pool. Breeding for SOP (Standard of Perfection) is a bit more challenging, however.

Everyone has their favorites, but I always like the big full figured pullets myself. Getting that "type" and nice copper hackles is a challenge, but well worth the work. Both pullets are nice, but I prefer the big girl.
