I've never had an orpington with paint jets! How cool. I wouldn't mind if my orps eggs were speckled.

I do... she lays a really pale brown with darker brown spots. But nothing as dark as our Marans eggs.

Thank you! They are from a pullet from my last breeding in Fall of 2011. All of her sisters were much older when they started to lay and hence much larger pullets. I was sure the eggs were from an older olive egger pullet (I must say I was bummed but pleased....) till I found the little thing in the nest with the warm egg under her. Her sisters also always laid a large egg right from the get go. Hers are tiny like she is She is laying 5 little eggs a week, about 2 dozen so far and they all look pretty darn near the same.........

I thought it might be fun to send her eggs to a show. Does anyone know if they want you to send little pullet eggs??
