I know.

If you breed the throw-offs, you should get either 50/50 Wheatens and BCM's or 100% BCM's, but with 50% of them carrying recessive Wheaten.

Illia do you have a photo of a throw off? Just curious what I should really look for ??

I have another question. All I read about is Bev Davis and Wade Jean lines, is everyone trying to breed just these lines and if that's the best lines to have, Why is everyone trying to improve them?

I think she's talking about when you get a surprise chipmunk ( or two) in your BCM hatch. And then breed said chipmunks (wheatens) to eachother.

I'd like to know- (maybe Pink knows this?) can you get an occasional wheaten or blue wheaten from blue coppers? Is this where the blue wheaten marans came from?

Which color came first (after cuckoo of course) in the US?

well my BCM's are due within a week-so we'll see? MInd you, I've never had them before so It would be great if I knew exactly what I need to look for before they are almost adults! I mean great to spot bad flaws way ahead of time to weed out:)

I'm in and out . . . trying to keep up.

I really wish a thread like this would get started for my speckled sussex - - -- you know

1.) Post pictures
2.) Receive feedback
3.) Learn from feedback

Posting pictures is not enough, the real learning occurs with honest and detailed feedback.. . . .

My EYE is so good with the marans. I may not have all the ends and outs down pat, but I know when I see something wrong.
I don't think my eye will ever develop as good with the delawares and may never develop at all with the speckled sussex.
Those threads have pictures, but a lot of the feedback is missing . ..

Don, Geebs, Pink and Wynette have done an AWESOME job at teaching us to be good marans people!

Let the critiques continue. . . .
