Black Crested White Polish in the US

I was involved in the development of BCW back in '96 when they were admitted to the APA. I got out of breeding after they were accepted. Just got some from Ideal. They are poor quality. Anyone still working on them I sure would like to contact.

I've wanted to start a breeding project ( breeding to the APA SOP ) for awhile and had a hard time picking birds because no breed stuck out over another breed. Then I came across Black Crested White Polish, a color I had forgotten but always loved because their color is unlike many others. I've researched about this color variety on these forums and across other parts of the internet. I couldn't find much but did discover that this breed sort of died out in the US and it's very difficult to come across someone working with them seriously, if there is even anyone at all. I was wondering if the only place to aquire them is ideal poultry, or if there is another possible bloodline out there? I was also curious if in the case that I wouldn't be able to find another bloodline, what impact would breeding these birds to another polish color for better type or even crossing to breeds that possibly went into creating this color have on my breeding program?
Having any luck with info?

i'm interested as well.

Is the preferred combo:
(A) Lakenvelder rooster & white polish hens; OR
(B) Lakenvelder hens & white polish rooster?

Do you remember what the standard was from back then please? Are the BCW meant to have the same standard as the WCB (eg no beard, prominent wattles, shape, weight) with the colours inverted (eg black crest with a white band)? are speckles on the neck and chest acceptable?

Do you know of any hatcheries that carry the BcW? Everything said Ideal but they do not. I am looking to replace my daughters, 7, heart chicken that passed this fall. Need a pullet.

Ideal unfortunately stopped selling BcW last year, and won't be selling them again. No other hatchery has ever sold them, nor does sell them either, as far as im aware. The only way to get BcW at this point in time is through a breeder.
Finding a pullet is going to be tough. You might be able to, but I'd guess it's a bit more likely you'll need to get eggs.
There's a few breeders in FL and other southeastern states, but also one in California in case you're on the west coast.

Frizzled & Fabulous farms, California: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100054308599277

Muffs-n-tufts, Florida, may have eggs for sale this year:

There's others, but they don't seem to have farm pages I can share. The best way to get with BcW breeds is through the "Black crested White Enthusiasts" group on Facebook. Ton of people on there I didn't mention!

Best of luck on getting another BcW!
