Black dots on my chickens combs and mouth.

[/IMG]I'M curious about avian pox!.One of my hens haa grown a black scab on her beak.My rooster has black scabson his comb.What is the vaccination?My local vet wouldn't do it.

I'll be interested to hear what others think about this but it just looks like maybe your chickens have just pecked each other? Is this possible? Sometimes mine will give each other pecks when someone invades someone else's space. The scabs are on the comb or wattles and look black.

Yes,they do peck each other.Especially when they are going to bed. I recently had3 roosters,but I gave 2away yesterday so maybe the pecking will ease up.

Pecking could be the cause, but it could also be a case of fowl pox if mosquitoes are present. Sometimes there can be one scab or many. The virus last a few weeks. Here is some info about fox pox virus:
