black head medication??

What medication do i give my peafowl and turkeys for black heads and where do i get it??

Metranodizole. I think that's the correct spelling. I had to get it from the vet. Sul-met is more for cocci.

Sulmet is for Coccidia and some Respiratory infections, never herd of it for treating Blackhead?.......


Metranodizole is what you need to TREAT Blackhead. I get it as a fish medication from Jeffers Pet online, called Fish- Zole about $20 for 100 pills of 250mg. Check your local fish supply store too. Full size Turkeys get 2 pills down the throat, for 5 days so depending on what your fowl weighs..... They also carry it in a double dose pill. You need to get him on something quickly, keep him/her separated and keep him Hydrated.....


Treat any other flock not showing symptoms with Safeguard liquid goat wormer. Treating your fowl with a wormer like this will help keep blackhead from spreading in the future.

You should be feeding them gamebird and turkey feed.It contains the medication in it.I think it is called emtryl.Dimetridazole is also a treatment.
