Black possum chooks town

grass is good for our animals ,make them happy .
yeah i think my chooks will love the new place for sure , problem we have here is birds of prey .sort of eagle or something else ,haven t see it my self ,but the owner of the place lost most of his chooks to this eagle .
I m thinking about putting a fruit mesh over my chooks runs to protect them . bamboo will keep them safe when they are in it but for them to have axcess to the grass they need to go to the open area ,there the eagle will strike .
lot work to do any way but no way I will let the animal eat my chooks .lot time and money been spent on them to get them where they are now .I have the best marans strain in the country ,spent years and years of breeding them to SOP .I can t afford loosing them .

Yes I have netting over my whole large pen and have painters poles and other things to hold it up. My friend that I sold 4 of my Mallards to a few years ago had them fly off but also told me that he has an Eagles nest not far from his place. Hopefully they just decided to leave and the eagle did not get them but it is possible that it did. They were free range with a pond daily and then put in the coop at night. Good luck with your setup. Predators show no mercy for our birds.

Absolutely gorgeous! So happy for you my friend! Blessings to you!
thank you my friend .I should breed good marans in this new place .
our problem in OZ is a summer heat .this new farm has so much bamboo ,creating a lot of shade and cool area out of the sun. ,it is where I m going a build all my chooks pens . each pen will have axcess to grass and bamboo forest .
I have a river runnig a long south side of the property where is a big shed ,so a lot of coold air will come from there plus I can irregate any time I need .
lot to do my friend .

Great job!!! As soon as I saw your level I knew you knew what you were doing. My husband built our house and without a level a carpenter would be lost. It looks great!!!!

He had his Uncle help him and then he helped his Uncle build his. They did a wonderful job. The house is 23 years old now built in 2000 but still stands strong. He had different people do different things like the front is brick and he hired a crew he knew to lay the brick as they did a fancy job and he would not have been able to do that but he did all of the framing and drywall and roofing himself. Saved us a lot of money since he is so skilled, He built all of the trim in our house himself and made our cabinets too. He is very talented and does a good job if I must say so myself, lol,,
