Black sexlink pullet 26 weeks and not laying yet

Yay mine were 21 wks too. 3 are laying every other day. 1 is holding out still. But my anxiety for 1st egg is gone. Excited to see new eggs everyday it's awesome.

Congrats! I'm pretty sure that the pullet in question has either laid an egg or will lay one very soon- with four of my five laying brown eggs, it's hard to tell. Thanks!

my black sexlinks started laying in the 19-22 week range at the end of june. I have 20 pullets all around the same age of 6 to 7 months all but 2 of them are laying. black sexlinks are good layers. this is my first year with this breed and I am happy with there production.

That is a little strange how I had to wait until she was at least 27 weeks until she laid.

How old are they? Did you get them as day old chicks or as older pullets?

Pullets that mature in the fall can take a bit longer than usual to start laying. 22 weeks is not at all considered 'late,' though.

Absolutely nothing at this point. You can't rush them. As long as they have unlimited access to a nutritionally balanced feed, when their bodies are ready and mature enough, they will lay.
