Black Silkie Pullet- Free to loving home!

I just saw this today. I live in Boonsboro MD, near Hagerstown and would be happy to give your girl a good home. I have a huge predator safe pen for daytime use and a lovely coop where the chickens sleep at night. During the day when I'm home to supervise, the chickens go out to my fenced yard for some free range time with the ducks, turkeys, and geese. My birds are all really nice and friendly. If being outside with others doesn't work for her, I could bring her inside.

So if none of the other folks from further away are taking her, I wil be happy to come and get her as you're probably no more than 30-40 minutes from me. I'm pretty flexible with time-could come Thursday or Friday (Dec 2 or 3) during the day if that works for you. I just try to be home in the hour or so around sunset to get the critters ready for bed/change the ducky pools. I'll also PM you.

I just saw this today but it got me to thinking

Has anyone ever started a transportation thread? We have one on a dog message board I am on, it helps a LOT, with getting dogs and puppies to new homes, rescues, for breeding, etc. I thought it might be a good idea to have one here. Anyone traveling and willing to haul a bird or two along the way could post their route and destination, and those needing birds transported, as in this case, could post looking for rides. I'm kinda new to the boards but does anyone think this is a good idea?

but I have a house chicken that is a sizzle and she is bline on one side and also has a deformity in her nasel cavity. It is actually missing. She was raised outside for a while with her hatch mates till they became more aware of her deformity and they started picking on her. She would just squat down and try to hide her head from them. When I discovered she was getting abused she became my house chicken. She is the sweetest thing and spoiled rotten. She runs around the house looking for little goodies in the carpet and she loves to stay in the kitchen and play in the dog food. She also helps the dogs out with their fleas. She actually pick and eats the fleas and they just let her do it. One of the dogs plays with her.

So if somebody can get your little sweetie they will have a wonderful house pet. I wish I lived close because I would grab her up in a minute. Give George company when she's stuck in her cage a few days. And give the dogs another flea picker.

I would rather have a house chicken than a dog or cat anyday. But I have all 3.

It's a great idea. If somebody was traveling my way I would take her. I have a cousin in the nashville area that would bring me something if he was headed this way sometime cose to the time he received it. Now that Christmas is nearing there will be alot of travelers. Maybe we can get some birds moved across country. We should start a travelers thread for those that are willing to transport for those that want but can't go and get or ship. What a great idea.

I'm not sure what part of PA your in but I'm in Scranton, PA 18512. I don't have any other chickens but she can be my house pet. I have other birds and could build her a big cage too. If your close enough to bring her to me I'd love to take her. My car isn't in good shape so I can't really drive to get her...She'd make a great christmas present for myself
