Here is my black rooster. Hes so rounded! You can see in the far shot picture how hes is shaped.

I sadly no longer have this one!

Here are a few pictures of my girls right now. They are molting right now and looking a lot better! Its so darn hot around here.

Will update more after they have molted. Does anyone know how long its generally takes them to molt? Does it all differ?

What beautiful birds everyone has !! I love the type on those hens joe . I took a couple pics out side today it was sooooo hot and humid here !!

I hope it rains some tonight - just too break the heat !! I have 4 broodie black hens setting on about 60 eggs between them and they sit there in the heat . I went in and misted them a couple of times . They sure did seem to appriate it , I watched them preen and ruffle there feathers from the mist but not once did they get up . I have 20 black silkie eggs hatching as I type they started piping yesterday and poping like corn this afternoon . Well really I just wanted to say hey and see how everyone else and their birds are doing in this heat . Hope all is good ~~~~ Tammy

Beautiful pictures I'm so happy to find this thread Black Silkies are my bird the other colors are pretty but the black ones are where my heart is. I've learned alot in the past 30 minutes questions I've had but didn't know where to get the answers. I'll be spending alot of time here.
