Hi BYC friends!

This is my first hatch and I’m on day 21! I have 9 duck eggs (4 mallards, 5 runner) and they all appear to be moving and progressing as expected. One egg, however, has a peculiar black spot inside. Any thoughts on what this might be (see pic and short video)? I am turning the eggs and have the temperature right at 100 in a still-air incubator. Humidity is about 55%.

Have you candled the same egg again?
If you are still seeing movement, I wouldn’t worry much about it. Not much you can do about it anyway, except keep a watch on it.
The veining looks great.

By this point, they are starting to develop their down, so with mallards being dark, it could just be an odd angle, and the darkness comes from the body and the dark down. Probably a bit early to be a foot, but maybe? I don’t think it’s anything “wrong”.
