Black spots on comb and waddle

I THOUGHT this was fowl pox, but from all of the research I did, fowl pox goes through birds in 1-2 months. He has had these spots for months (We're going on at least 6 months, if not 9 months now.) The spots look bigger and more obvious in person, not sure why they look smaller and less noticeable in pictures... Maybe it was the other side of him that had more.

Anyone know what these black dots are?




 
If they are not pecking injuries, or an injury from some other source, which is what they look like, maybe they could be favus. Yes, fowl pox ordinarily runs its course in 3 weeks and makes them immune. Favus is a fungus, I believe. ou could try an antifungal cream (as for athlete's foot.)
