Chirping
(Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while, I've been really busy
)
Shimmer was beginning to get restless. It had been over an hour since Spark had left. After what felt like forever, about seven people came to the entrance of her enclosure holding a bunch of tools of some sort, none of which she could identify. Suddenly, they quickly came into the enclosure and started to corner her. Panicking, she attempted to fly, but the cover over the enclosure prevented her from doing so. Next thing she knew, they had pinned her down completely and wrapped something around her jaws so she couldn't bite them. Though she couldn't see what they were doing, she could feel as they removed a few scales and stuck tiny needles into her. "Does that take care of everything?" one asked. "Well, that should be all of the injections for now. That should be enough to keep her from catching any diseases while she's here. We collected some scales for a genetic analysis, and a blood sample. We'll do some bloodwork with that, make sure there's no sign of any problems there, either. If the dragon's healthy, we will hopefully be able to release her soon....unless those people with the whole 'selective breeding' project thingy make a deal with the boss about her," another replied. Having no clue what the humans were saying, Shimmer lifted her head and looked at them, confused. At her doing this, several people cried, "woah!" in surprise and pushed her head back onto the cold, damp earth. When they were done collecting scales and sticking her with needles, the humans cautiously let her go, took off the rubber-band-like thing that held her jaws closed, and quickly exited the enclosure. Shimmer was still trying to process what had happened, and she curled up on the ground in a sort of daze. Well, obviously the humans hunt in groups. They attacked me and rendered me helpless, but.....why didn't they kill me? That's a rather odd hunting strategy, I don't see how they ever get food like that. Perhaps I was one of the lucky ones? As she pondered why the humans hadn't killed her on their 'hunting trip', her mind soon shifted back to wondering what the humans were planning on doing with her if they weren't going to kill her, and how she was going to escape. Her claws were too big to pick the lock on the enclosure entrance as Spark had, and even if she did manage to escape the enclosure somehow, it was likely that she would have to have as much stealth as Angel to get past the humans, and Shimmer was well aware that stealth was definitely not her forte. The sun began to set in the evening sky, and Shimmer's train of thought slowly lulled her into uneasy sleep.
