"Oh, hi Scarlet!" Shimmer called. She flew to the ground, right behind Spyder. After showing respect to Scarlet, she proceeded to tell Scarlet all about her encounters with the humans, everything from being captured to Spark to the human that released her.

Spyder watched with a smile, once again shuddering at the thought of what the humans do.


Galaxy listened closely from her tree hideout, she new what the humans did to dragons when they caught them, they stuck them with silvery thin claws and killed them with their evil weapons.

Spyder watched with a smile, once again shuddering at the thought of what the humans do.

Scarlet nodded slowly. "A human let you out?" She asked with disbelief. Scarlet had no idea that humans could be kind.

Galaxy listened closely from her tree hideout, she knew what the humans did to dragons when they caught them, they stuck them with silvery thin claws and killed them with their evil weapons.

Scarlet nodded slowly. "A human let you out?" She asked with disbelief. Scarlet had no idea that humans could be kind.

"Yep. I mean, I'm pretty sure that's what he was doing...he was waving his paws everywhere and making weird noises when he came up to my cage. At first I thought he was just gonna try and mess with me like all the other times the humans came up to my cage, and then he opened the door. I have no idea exactly what he thought he was doing," she said.

-----[meanwhile, back at the human camp...]----

A human walked into a small room that was filled with all kinds of black devices covered in buttons. In the middle of the room, another human sat in a swivel chair. "Sir?" The first human said. "Yes?" replied the other, turning from his devices to face the other human. "There....there is a dragon missing from its cage, sir."

"Excuse me?"

"...There is a dragon missing from its cage."

"What?! Which one?"

"Um, I believe it is....32J?"

"A J? You sure you have the right letter? It's not a B or a V?"

"No sir. It's a J."

"Hmm....do you have the paperwork for any procedures we had done so far?"

"Yes sir. I have them right here. The medical report says.... 'we performed operations J7 and J8, but were directed to wait on performing operation J9.'"

"English, please?"

"In other words, the docs gave her immune system and vitamin absorption abilities a boost, but she wasnt going to lay any eggs."

"Ok...since she wasnt going to lay any eggs I guess we can let this slide....unless they put a tracker on her?"

"No sir. No trackers were implanted during the procedure."

"Any external trackers?"

"No, sir."

"Ugh. I suppose we can let this go. But if there are any other escapes, there will be some consequences."

"Yes sir."

Scarlet stared thoughtfully up at the speckled sky for a moment. "Interesting." She said, "I will announce you return at dawn... if everyone doesn't already know already." Scarlet smiled and turned towards where Galaxy hid, "You can come out now, you know."

Galaxy rolled her eyes, she'd been caught. She stepped into the moonlight, her
wings sparkling like the starry sky. " Hello there, I heard an ice dragon was captured. Was it really you?!" She said looking at shimmer.

Scarlet stared thoughtfully up at the speckled sky for a moment. "Interesting." She said, "I will announce you return at dawn... if everyone doesn't already know already." Scarlet smiled and turned towards where Galaxy hid, "You can come out now, you know."

Galaxy rolled her eyes, she'd been caught. She stepped into the moonlight, her
wings sparkling like the starry sky. " Hello there, I heard an ice dragon was captured. Was it really you?!" She said looking at shimmer.

"Yes, it was me, little one," Shimmer said, turning to Galaxy.

Spyder watched, recalling her story she'd told when fulgur first found her. " She's not a ghost, galaxy. You heard her, a human let her go." He explained


Galaxy looked up at spyder," no.... Humans don't do that..... Humans are killers...." She said, slowly backing away into the darkness...

"Don't worry, I'm not a ghost," Shimmer said in a soothing voice. She thought for a moment, then added pensively, "Think of it this way: there are nice dragons and mean dragons, right? Maybe.... it's the same with humans. Just like you might meet an occasional mean dragon out of a bunch of nice dragons, you might meet an occasional nice human out of a bunch of mean humans. I just happened to get lucky, that's all."

"Don't worry, I'm not a ghost," Shimmer said in a soothing voice. She thought for a moment, then added pensively, "Think of it this way: there are nice dragons and mean dragons, right? Maybe.... it's the same with humans. Just like you might meet an occasional mean dragon out of a bunch of nice dragons, you might meet an occasional nice human out of a bunch of mean humans. I just happened to get lucky, that's all."

Galaxy paused, she still didn't believe it, but shimmers voice helped her calm down," I....I guess, " she said nervously, blinking the tears from her eyes

Spyder smiled at shimmers soothing words
