Bleeding Egg

Thanks Hholly and WVduckchick, I keep telling this little girl she's got a lot of people rooting for her world wide. I've just checked again but not opened the bator as I can see her clearly and she's still dozing and dreaming.

Mine hasn't been able to hatch all day...I'm getting very concerned because it's been over two days since her first pip. It's nearly the end of day 23. I think her yolk is absorbed but I'm not quite sure what to look for. What are the odds that she still hasn't absorbed that or the blood vessels? Also what would she look like if the yolk wasn't absorbed?
Here is a picture of her:

I agree. It's been long enough that any blood vessel issues should have cleared up. What's the status with the rest of your eggs? Be sure you read the article by Sally Sunshine re: assisted hatching before proceeding. I wish you the best. Proceed slowly, and stop at any sign of bleeding. He may be glued or shrink wrapped, and if so, you'll have to assist him.

I just looked back at your last post and see that the head is all the way out? That changes things a lot. Please take your pics and situation over to the "She said he said" thread. There are a lot of experienced hatchers there who can advise you.

It's only the three I think, but I did see a pipped egg under the broody, so fingers crossed that one will hatch. I posted on the other thread and am waiting for a response. Thank you for your help! I will definitely review the assisted hatching thread before doing anything. I really hope I'm able to save her.

Yes, she's moving a little and even is trying to fluff her feathers, but hasn't made much an effort to get out the shell. Her one foot is competely out, too. She peeps whenever I go over to the incubator, too. She's been resting for at least 8 or 9 hours. I'm worried about putting her under too much stress. We've both had a very long and hard day.

Can you read the assisted hatch article again and see if there's advice on finishing the hatch? Sorry, but I just don't want to steer you wrong. If it was mine, I would probably go ahead and help it out if the shell now. Good luck!
