Thanks, after reading the article I've decided to wait to help her anymore due to the bleeding. Hopefully, that'll give her time to absorb any blood and yolk. I worried about how much stress she's under, but think the best thing is to wait and see.

Here's an Irony, I've got another chick hatching at the moment who's piped yesterday and has finally opened enough shell for me to see its malpositioned. The chick is active etc but cant break itself out properly. So I've stepped in and assisted with this hatch, I peeled back the egg shell to free it up slightly and peeled back some of the membrane to allow it to move its head and free its feet.

It's butt is still covered by shell and membrane as its a bit bloody. Ive wrapped it in paper towel that I dampened with warm water and put it back in the bator with some more damp paper towel under it. So far its rested for a while and is slowly stretching itself out. The chicks initial pip was early yesterday afternoon and its now just gone 3.30pm here so I have left it a good while before stepping in and helping this guy out.

I also dabbed on corn starch to slow the bleeding. Its now up to the chick to sort itself out. The main thing is clearing its beak and head so I know it can breath.

Mine's still in the egg. I came across blood when pulling off the membrane, so I put her back. She tries to get out and then takes a break. I'm worried she's under a lot of stress, but don't want to hatch her too early. I thought waiting would be a good idea, but I don't really know. She's been pipped since Friday. She's halfway out. What should I do?

I'd leave her be for a while but keep an eye on her, you may find once she's rested that she will complete the hatch herself. Often the move a bit then rest for a while then move again then rest again until they eventually kick free.

It's been nearly an hour since I last helped her. I really don't know what to do. If I help her, I worry she'll start bleeding again and die. If I don't help her, she could die trying to get out. I could also wait, but until when? Based on everyone's experiences, what is the best option?

She is trying but hasn't had any improvement. I agree with waiting, though. It's just a matter of how long.
