I am trying to let all my chicks be together in my coop. The older chicks are really picking on the smaller ones. So I have let let the smaller chicks out in the main coop and left 2 of the 7 chickens out with them. I was going to keep the rest in the pen inside the coop and let 1 more out every week.

Tonight I went out to check on them and make sure everyone was settling in. The 2 older chickens would not allow the smaller ones to sleep on the same perch. They kept bullying them until they jumped off.

? They have been in the same area with each since day one. But they have their own groups with age. How do I get them to get along without the fence between them? My coop was full of feathers when they were all out. They can't stay separated forever. I don't have the room to have 2 different coops.

I've had good luck accommodating different ages and temperaments on the same perch by installing partitions.
