Blind Chick

I have a blind duck that hatched nearly a year ago. I could see straight away something was wrong with her eyes- they were cloudy- but that left in a few days. She needed a little extra care- but not too much. ow she lives outside with the flock. I have a drake that is quite besotted with her. He is never far from her side. She can walk out of the shed on here own in the morning- but in the evenings I have to pick her up to carry her back inside. The drake beside me walking as he wont go in until she is. Its nice to see them together and it gives me piece of mind that she is Ok when I am not home. In summer she did sit out in the sun while the other ducks were in the shade- and I worried about her suffering from the heat. For the most part though- she does fine with her disability- and I am so glad I kept her - she comes walking over to me when I call her name and loves cuddles and being touched.

I hope your Cochise turns out as wonderful as my little Stevie-Ray
