Thinking sour is right. He will need to be watched. I commend you for taking on this sweet task. I used to rescue dogs. I can relate a bit, because I know you've come to love this little guy. WELCOME!!
Welcome to Backyard Chickens! We are glad you joined the flock! BYC is a helpful site providing all of the information you need to know about poultry. There is always space for members on the BYC roost! Keeping your rooster in a predator proof area such as an enclosed run is probably your only option if you desire him to live outdoors. Hope you enjoy it here as much as we all do!
The thing to remember about blind birds, is to keep food, water, etc. in the same place so it it easier for them to find. Sometimes nature helps out, and another chicken(generally hens though) will guide a blind bird around.
Welcome to BYC. I think it is kind of you to look after this rooster, but it is not going to be easy. He will require a lot of care. I think you are doing everything right so far, and I hope you can find help and guidance on BYC.
Greetings Autumn baby, Welcome to BYC! My heart is touched this day, by your kindness towards this rooster. I have cared for many chickens that other keepers would have euthanized. He will have a good life with you. I will give this some thought and send some suggestions to your Inbox.
