Block swap. We need no more.

Thanks for doing that. I can't do math anymore. With the math 'm trying to help my DS with I lost my mind.

Someone asked for quatities so I did a quick calculation - if anyone wants to check on my numbers, please do!

I calculated on a 40" wide fabric - from selvage to selvage. This is for all 12 blocks

RED - 18" (1/2 yard) 48 - 3 1/2" squares
BLUE - 10" (1/3 yard) 96 - 2" squares
WHITE 41 1/2" inches 48 - 3 1/2" squares and 96 - 2" squares

You know it's funny I can't seem to work on my blocks when they are at the hospital. Now that she came home today I better start woking on them tonight.

Glad everyone is safe.

I did a block this weekend, and hope to do a few today. The first one didn't come out as well as I hoped, but better than I expected, and I cut 6 extra blocks worth, just to be safe. The first block is like the first pancake. It just never works the way it should, and I usually toss it away.

I know how to fix my little issues though, and am off to the races today.
The house is clean enough, and the man of the house is actually awake before noon today, so the sewing machine can't wake him.

I hope to be done with my blocks by the end of the weekend.
I don't have to work Sunday, thanks to the Super Bowl - which we don't celebrate - so I can finish my blocks up & get back to work on the quilt top I started for my sweetie for about a week before we press record.
I have a nice, quiet weekend of making jams & sewing blocks planned. I also have a Guinea Hen to roast, and the band coming for brunch tomorrow. I think I'll make them Macarons & Tres Leches cake. I just got new pans from Pampered Chef & want to break them in.

Gin, in the restaurant industry the "first pancake" rule applies to a lot of things. I know chefs who purposely sabotage the first item of the night, just to get it out of the way.

How is everyone else coming along. I'm been working on 2 blocks for a girl on the MSQC and It's taking me a long time so I'm going to finish mine this week. I HOPE.
