Blood in rooster's semen?

Ah yes but we women can have trace amount in our urine following a minor injury or bruising in the genital area or abdomen. It clears up on its own and is not always a "medical problem".

I would monitor the fella and see if it clears up, if not, take a sample to a vet to have it examine...put it as much as you can gather off your shirt sleeve or shoe in a clean container with a lid or cover, refrigerate it and take it in.

Good luck with him.

AI = Artificial Insemination.

Some people do this to manually get the roosters semen and then placing the semen within the Hen. It boosts up fertility I believe and I know most breeders who use this are ones who have EXTRA fluffy chickens since the fertility is low on these breeds... (I think rumpless birds require this too if your a serious breeder)

Sounds like your Guy is going to be just fine. Like the others said, he may have just bust a few capillaries.

Thank you. I noticed this morning that it was much less blood. Im thinking he will be fine. Like I said, he is seeming his frisky ol self... no lethargy or other signs if ill health.

They might... blood in urine from a kidney stone or a bruise doesn't usually freak doctors out. Blood from a tumor or something along those lines would.

Oh man, that is what I need to do with him (AI). I want so bad to have babies from him as he is a "doll". He just won the best looking mutt roo competition on this site. He is a beaut.

Thanks also for the word of encouragement. I agree, there is probably nothing to worry about. I just wondered if anyone with experience might know different.
Here is my buddy:

Thanks you all for chiming in on this thread. Robin and Chickie

He is gorgeous!

I wonder what would happen if you raised a hen as a pet the way you raised him, if they would accept each other? What breed would you choose?
