blood ring or blind

hi hun, polish are doing good. they are little ! biggest thing about them is their mouth ! LOL A new coop !!!!

always good news. I killed a chick on accident it was trying to hatch and couldnt. I wanted to give it an air hole . I squished it. it was just aweful. i squeezed too hard and it crumbled in my hand. one egg left from the seramas.

Yes they can be noisy things!! Those 2 white crested blacks that I have are terribly noisy. As soon as they see you they turn into gob a lots! They sound like sea gulls never mind chickens, I think it's temper because they want to be let out all the time. Always having a paddy.

Sorry on the chick granny :hugs Were they under a broody or have you fired an incubator up? How's those other chicks your GS rescued from the hen?

it was those seramas . they were under a broody and she gave up after about 20 days so i moved them to the bator . same time you started i think. and still have one alive in there. weird hatch for sure. the chicks my gs rescued are doing great ! they are keepers for sure. LOL

That's great they are keepers granny I hope they make great birds for you. I hope that last one hatches for you, this is what worries me if I do have one go broody that they quit sitting and I'm left with them. I'm hoping with this new coop because it has more nest boxes that if I leave some eggs in there it might encourage them but then again they are polish so not much chance I may have to get myself a silkie!!

Im hoping this frizzle one I've saved for my Mum is a hen but I'm not hopeful at all it's got quite a comb and is red already but if it's roo I will take it to the fur and feather sale, frizzles go for more money and are likely to get a good home.

i think everyone should keep at least one silkie around for emergency LOL if they stop you have your bator to pop them in but your right one one thing. I have never had a polish go broody.

No I've got my fingers crossed that one will but I'm not that hopeful. This new coop has more nest box space do you never know. Will post some pics of it soon. Got the paint on and dried thankfully before it started raining, still chucking it down now.
These are the Ginny chicks and the one polish I have left, what's your thoughts?

I'm thinking the polish and the frizzle are male :he

Hi granny! Quick candling update on the eggs. All 25 still going ok. Saw movement in them all so if they all make it the incubator will be full!! How's your flock? All the new ones ok?

I think your right on the above pics maybe the runty polish is a girl? Been watching them and my adult birds and some do have the same shape tail as the chick.
The frizzle is certainly boy I think, that's what I'm going on anyway. They escaped out of the shed yesterday what a caffufle rounding them up I hope the neighbours didn't see me I must have looked demented creeping up on them.

Hope your having a good day :thumbsup

LOL, cue the Benny Hill music . bet that was a sight ! Am doing ok, some pain in my foot. have a couple new chickens. went to the swap . one has a bum leg and with all i have been reading my guess is twisted leg. vit. B is needed for that. its a swedish flower. then GS begged for silkie . it is fighting already. a week old . and lastly a beautiful EE hen. she is white with mahogany wings.

How many more days ?
