blood ring or blind

does sound like a candy dont it? but no. it is hypoglycemic . the suger levels in my body fall and it causes me to pass out . the good thing is sugar brings it back up ! been all this time trying to reply. computer is as slow as i am.

My iPad is being a bit slow too maybe there are gremlins at work!! I see what you mean now with sugar drops. My other half is diabetic type 2 and he's on tablets for it and supposed to watch his diet.

He was poorly before they diagnosed it because being a man he took ages to go to the doctors even though I nagged for a long time. If he misses tablets he does feel unwell. I try to keep him in check but sometimes it's like banging your head against a brick wall :he

believe it or not , I am also on pills. my sugar doesnt work one way or the other. it is from my adrenal glands not working right.

well crap ! it was a distress call. its upside down with only its beak out of a hole and I thought dead. I took the shell away in a zip and i cant even move the membrane . its tough. then it took a breath but i seen a clear gel on it . I didnt bother with any more. wrapped it in a wet towel and put it back in the bator. I have no idea what that could be. like a small wad of clear jello ?

Sounds like it has albumen(egg white) still on it. That's usually a humidity issue if they still have it on them. It's a malpositioned one then. Have you incubated them in a turner pointy end down?

yes, pointy end down. I just went to the pole barn and 7 of my babies are dead. pole barn almost caught fire. wires all burnt heat bulbs all busted. one was a serama

will the one with the egg white die as well?  it was a mostly dry hatch. 20% til last night

Oh no granny that's awfull, how sad :hugs I'm so sorry. That's why I prefer the ecoglows less chance of fire. The lamp I have in the shed worries me a lot with the catching fire event of it. Any chicks I have in the summer will only have the eco glow.

If it hatches it woukd be classed as a sticky chick. So no I don't think it would kill it. You can clean them up with warm water gently wiping them down. But so they don't get a chill.
Here is a section on sticky chicks -

Sticky" chicks - chicks smeared with albumen

- Low incubation temperature.
- High incubation humidity.
- Incorrect or inadequate turning of the eggs, resulting in improper membrane development and function.
- Eggs stored too long prior to setting.
- Overly large eggs.

Is there any more progress with it? I hope it hatches ok.
