I would take a guess at it being the gold lace. It's legs look like a gold lace legs. Also your right it dosnt look like it has much of a top knot and it has little comb. What was the roo that's with the hen again?

I have 3 possibility phoenix, i would rule him out for sure. swedish flower and crested cream legbar

I've just taken a look at those two breeds and I'm still not sure. But you would think a crested polish and a crested legbar would produce a crested chick? I'm not sure though time will tell as it grows.

only white egg layers i have are polish . candy corn (like the tolbunt) and golden laced. i dont think i have pic of legbar but i will go look . both roos are crested

no picture. He looks like the swedish only washed out in color and longer taller body type. more leghorn type build.

guess what ? their chicks also have the chipmunk stripes like the ones i am saying were from the phoenix. ya, looks like my rooster.
