awww, sounds cute. I checked last night and nothing then this am it was dry so it dont take long for them to fluff under mama. If she isnt coming down yet then probably more on the way..

8 babies so far. one or 2 a day. have no clue what i am to do with them. hows you???

All really good All 4 of her eggs have hatched!! She has 4 lovely blue little chicks under her. She's doing ok too, she has come out of the nest box and into the coop bit. I've put the food and water in their for them. She been showing them how to eat and drink and been clucking away. She did tread on one but I'm not surprised as she see at the best of times!! All in all not bad really. Will get some pics of them later or maybe even tomorrow when I've got them coming down the ramp. Just wanted to make sure today they get food and water.

Lots of extra ones building up for you there granny!! Sounds like are doing a good job. Do you just let them raise them in flock or do you soerate them?

congrats ! all of them. thats awesome. I had NO plans for these guys. GS was supposed to be collecting the eggs and next thing i know is chicks. I have been pulling them because they are in the main coop with LF and every other kind of chicken. 2 have died. 1 drown and 1 was scalped. I was trying to let them keep them but it didnt work that way so they are in the house for now.

. I am just grabbing them as they come.

That's why I moved this broody one to be on her own as I wasn't sure what would happen if I left her with her others. In her group she was low down in the pecking order so I thought that might make any chicks a target too.
Ta da!! Here they are, only three in the pic as number 4 seems to be camera shy and didn't come out from under her!!

haahaa, so cute. cant even see mamas face. up to #9 now. gs came over and went flying out there and came back all excited with a pipped egg in his hand and I hatched it so he could see.

Hi granny

How's it going? Any more chicks from your broody hens? What was your total in the end? I've still got the full load on. Have not sold anymore yet. Had to make a temporary run around the shed to give them more room. Coming on well though but can't wait till I can sex them. Hoping they will sell better when I know what are hens.

Let the little hen out today on the grass while I cleaned them out. Was nice to see them out and about. All good and I managed to get them back in which was a bonus!! She has surprised me how she has taken care of them. Was it holding much hope of here being a good mother. But she has proved me wrong.

Oh dear! Back living or just visiting? Yes bird flu again in the next county They only have a restricted movement zone around the chicken farm it's at. They have culled thousands of birds though to be on the safe side. Hoping it don't come this way!!

Seems to be sporadical out breaks of it here and there. Not heard anything recently on the news though. So maybe it has passed with out too much fuss.

not living here. lol thank goodness their van however is broke down and i drove sil all over the place 2 days ago and it wore me out so we loaned them our van. something happens to that we are up the creek. 16 babies and not a clue. was planning to put them in the barn (metal) and was informed its getting over 90 degrees in there in the day.. our temps. keep going back and forth. i have too many in one cage in the house .
