bloody chick poops

hi, i have some chicks that i noticed poop some real cherry color poops. the other chicks will go crazy after it as soon as it hits the shavings and they play the catch me game. anybody know??? they sometimes eat the shavings and im thinking it could be scratching thier inside?? they do not seem sick
