I went to lock my chickens in their coop tonight and I found my girl in the nesting box. When I pulled her out this is what I found. I’m not sure what happened or what to do.

Hard to see clearly from the pictures but it looks as if she has a prolapse. It happens sometimes during egg laying.
First thing in the morning remove her from the others. Her blood and red tissue will attract other’s to peck and tear her making the problem much much worse.
She’ll need a soak in lukewarm water not only to get her clean but so you can take photos again so we can see the extent of her injuries.
Can you bring her in? Perhaps put her in a dog crate or cage?
Good suggestion.I am wondering if an old towel would be better than being in shavings with that going on.
