bloody egg!

Hello everyone, I cracked and egg this morning for breakfast I noticed there was blood in It, I posted a picture of it any body tell me what it is and why it is there? is it safe to eat? I don't have any roosters so I know it is not fertilized egg. Thank you in advanced.

Yup just a blood spot and yes they're completely safe to eat. If it bothers you you can pick it out or cook it and pick out the spot after.

Hi sorry about jumping in but I have a similar question. The egg in question had blood in it but was loose. Made the whole egg white look pink. Not a spot. Is this normal

That can happen too, same cause as a blood spot but just spreads out more...
...as long as it's only a once in awhile occurrence, I'd not worry about it.
