Bloody poop AFTER CORID

My first time raising chickens. I'm in day two of Corid treatment for a 6-month old Barnevelder. She's acting normal and seems much better. Does anyone know what the bloody stuff is in her poo? Is that intestinal lining being shed? Bloody parasites being expelled? Internal bleeding? And has the treatment worked when I no longer see that in her poo? This was what alerted us to the problem two days ago. Thanks for any insights. Those of you who know more about chickens in this forum have been absolute lifesavers!

https://www.jedds.com/shop/trimethoprinsulfa-100-g-medpet/ This is where you can get the antibiotic recommended to treat secondary bacterial infection accompanying coccidiosis.

The blood you see is symptomatic of necrotic enteritis a life threatening condition that often comes with coccidiosis. Corid alone will not treat it, other postings not withstanding.

Go back to the forum title page and post your own thread on the subject of you concern to get a better response tailored to your situation.

So how do I know when it is cleared? Everyone has been fine with no bloody poops since day 4 or 5 of treatment. And now I’m just starting to see it again. I’m fine with restarting CORID if it’s necessary. I just didn’t want to overdo it
Not sure if this is helpful. I have four six month olds, and one of them had bloody droppings. I started Corid and was lucky to find a vet who would do a fecal float test to confirm coccidiosis. She recommended six days on the highest dose, and two more weeks on the lowest, for all of them of course. About a week and half in, a different pullet had bloody droppings. The vet recommended staying the course, and she was right. Everybody seems healthy and happy again. It's so stressful though. Good luck!

Done and done. They just finished their first full day of the sulfa. It does not mix well with the water that’s for sure. Still no bloody poop but I have 2 that aren’t acting quite right. I will continue the sulfa for 7 days. Should I do nutridrench after the sulfa is complete?

Could you give an update on how your chicks are doing?
