BLOODY PROLAPSED VENT!!

This black thing will not come off. I don’t know if it is dead skin. But I am scared to pull on it

It's hard to tell from a photo if it's dried blood or necrotic tissue. Since neither one of us is a vet or animal surgeon, I suggest you shove the entire thing back inside.

How is the hen behaving? Is she wanting to be active? Is she wanting to eat? Have you tried offering her food? I suggest soft foods such as yogurt, soft boiled egg or baby food until her inner vent tissue has a chance to settle back in. Too much roughage might tax that vent too much for the next few days.

I just soaked her. I applied some ointment to help with the swelling. She appears to be acting normal. She tried flying in the room as well.

She isn't out of the woods yet. Keep her from getting chilled. No stress. Electrolytes in her water for the next couple days. It pays to guard against shock. Poultry Nutri-drench is also a very good safeguard against shock.

So wether it’s blood or necrotic tissue I can push that back inside of her w/ the preparation h ?

Yes, put the entire mass back inside, but only put the Prep H on what ends up being exposed at the entrance to the vent plus the tissue surrounding the vent. You want to shrink that exterior tissue so it can keep everything inside.

If any of the tissue is necrotic, hopefully it will slough off and be expelled over time as she poops. Unless you want to try your hand at surgery. I'm thinking you'll elect to pass on that.
