Today I was walking up the driveway and I saw some bloody stool in front of the coop. What may have caused this? A couple of weeks ago I saw some stool similar to this but I didn't think much of it. The budget is pretty tight at the moment but I'll get some wormer as soon as possible. I have quite a few pictures and there appears to be a long bloody thing? I'll attach some pictures, any ideas on why this is happening?

(In this one I picked up the long bloody mass on a piece of hay, and it looks a bit like a worm)

It has been very wet as we are entering Winter here in NZ, however the chickens are free ranging all day everyday and are only shut in the coop at night.

I am also unsure of which one of my birds did this.

Thankyou for the responses! I'll still worm everyone but it is good to know that it's nothing harmful!

I do agree that the long thing is intestinal shedding, the chunk probably is also, but the urates along with your very wet weather, I would tend to err on the side of caution. Instead of treating needlessly, if you can have a fecal float performed that would be best.

The last three photos, ignoring the blood and red goop, looks very much like a roundworm... no?
