Well, well, well. (wasn't that a clever opening?) Here it is, a brand new year, and I am debating about what I want to do this spring. Do I want to complete my chick order with @MyPetChicken or do I want to bite the bullet and try this hatching thing again? What are the rest of you planning to do? Wanna come play in my Blankie fort again? I have Christmas cookies and Ken's famous peanut brittle left. And when I say "famous" I literally mean famous!! He ends up with a waiting list for it every year. Me? I've had enough of it to last me until next Christmas, but it sure is yummy!

You wanna do both you know it!! Lol because you have to have a back up order just in case you lose the hatch. Lol that's what our feed store is for lol

Hehehe okay no that's mean BC I must wait until February or March at least and I have a broody silkie and I'm dieing to just oops some eggs under her lol. I wasn't even sure it was a pullet until she decided she wanted to be a Mommy. Lol

Don't tempt me I am sooo close to messaging her. If we could spare the money I would have already. Btw hi guys I've missed you! Did I mention I managed to hatch or have in my possession at some point this last year over 200 chicks! Not all at once mind you remember. I also managed to hatch a paint silkie pullet and a partridge silkie pullet and the white crossed with gray pullets. A gray cockeral, a buff partridge cockeral and a little buff and a little blue that I'm not sure on yet. Fingers crossed at least one of them is a girl. We also acquired four guineas, and 9 quail but we lost three of the quail when they escaped their enclosure right into a pen with lf cockerals being grown out for the freezer. We processed our first birds. And sadly we lost 25 birds to predators since last mid May. That is a ton!! Of our original birds we bought at farm and fleet we only have four left out of 6, but we started 2016 with 33 birds and we only have 12-14 of them left although we did sell a few. It was a bad summer to be a chicken around here. Still it was an okay year. I'm proud of us and of our flock. We started developing a new breed also in 2016 so that's cool. We've come a long way. We're now very poor chicken people lol. We also got our first quail egg today although it was shell less but they're only 6 weeks old so I'm not sweating it.
