Blowing Eggs - Craft Questions

Thanks!

It was no problem at all.

It wasnt hard to make at all. I had everything at home already, so I decided to try. I had to make a red nose for the first guy! lol. It's just a pencil eraser cut in half and glued on the egg.

I decorate my chooks eggs using polymer clay. We sell them at fairs & shows we attend. Friends & family also appreciate them as gifts. Here are few examples...

We have sold close to 500 egss in the past few years at $20-$40 per egg.

I have a step by step photo instructions somewhere that I might be able to dig up if anyone is interested.

I wondered how to do this. I kept on hearing people talking about blowing eggs, and was never really sure how it was done. I think me and the kids will have to try to do this together. Who knows we might be able to do it or at least get a good laugh out of it. And wow look at those eggs that are do up sooo pretty. I have never messed withpolymere clay either. Is it hard to use?

5azsisters, I think your eggs are pretty impressive too.

I have no artistic ability what so ever. I basicaly learned the technique on my own after looking it up on the internet. If I can do it, any of you can. I will warn you that it is labour intensive. But the more you put into it, the better the results.

I've found the file with the pic tutorial on doing polymer clay eggs. The text instructions are missing however. I will need a day or 2 to write them again. I just got back from our fall fair this weekend, so you will have to bear with me. I will start a new thread on it so as not to hijack this thread.

OK...I have to know!!!!

Where do you get those cute little chicks to put in the eggs???

Also, do you put the clay on the broken egg or do you break it after it is baked?

How fragile are they? How do you pack them when you sell them at fairs or shows for them not to break.

I've been looking at doing these for a long time, but wasn't sure how fragile they are when finished.

Thanks
Jean
