Can anyone shoe me a picture of a Splash BLRW. I ordered some chicks and I have a few that do not look like the rest. I have been told they could be splash BLRW.

Thanks:confused:

These two young pullets were both what could be called buff laced wyandottes. The bird on the right was splash laced (red).

Excuse the way the pic has come out it was my first upload & I did something odd.

The picture is great!! They are really pretty!! Maybe I can post some pics of the ones I am talking about. They do not look like those.

Both. Right now the chicks I am talking about are 6 weeks old. I will try to get some pics posted today, but I am super busy so it might be tomorrow depending on my time!

Thanks for any pics!!!

BLRW come in three kinds just like Andalusian blue birds. They can be of Blue, Black or Splash lacing.
Here are some pics from when I raised them.

Black and Blue lacing vary and might look pretty similar, so most BLRW breeders say they have "light" and "dark" chicks. The dark will end up either nicely blue or black lacing and the "light" will end up being splash.
These are the best I can do for photos

These chicks are BLRW, the one to the right is lighter than the other two, and will be splash and is considered a "light". The other two you can see that the stripes down the back are darker blue than the one on the right. Those will be blue and are considered the "dark" (You could get darker ones but I did not)

These are a few as they grew up.

Dark rooster, probably as close to black as I got for color.

I never got a nice blue hen to show you.

Hope that helps.

That was great help. You have some very pretty birds, do you raise BLRW?
