BLRW'S from MMH

THanks chickenaddict, that's good to know! I'll wait awhile and see if anything pans out here!

Bumblebee, I sent you 2 pm's! Can't wait to hear from you! Sounds like a great day trip for chicks! Let me know!

I got bantam blrw from ideal last year. They were horrific quality. Most were white with a little blue splash here and there, if that. I had ONE that actually resembled a blrw out of 12.

(Got a refund, too b/c they were not sure after seeing the pictures of them feathered in, if they sent me the right breed or not!)

Here is a pic of the pair i got from Ideal in october.

Both barely have any lacing on their chest area, The roo is getting prettier but far from perfect but i didn't expect them to be considering they are hatchery birds. Now im on a mission to get some hatching eggs of the bantam version blrw

Wow, sorry you didn't get very good quality birds. If those two are examples of what you got, they aren't very good at all. The top one looks like it probably didn't have much lacing, and the bottom is gold laced, not red. Most likely they're a gold laced cross of some kind.

I have BLRWs. I'm hatching chicks for myself right now. If anyone local wants any, let me know. I have a list for eggs in the spring. But it isn't that long. Right now I only have 3 girls laying and one more should lay any day. These are from Sterling Center farms. I also have 5 up and coming pullets from Turbo. I do have some young cockerels available from turbo and a splash roo from sterling. Once it warms up I will be selling eggs and started chicks.

I agree. Thats what i get for ordering them from a hatchery. Next time i will be getting eggs from a breeder if i can find one who sells the bantam version.

Blisschick-

Understood. Let me know when you have some available. I'll try and get a decent picture of my RedRoo to show you. He is a pretty boy, with a very "vigorous" attitude.
